Gilwell Park Set to Soar: New Site Manager and National Accreditation Visit Signal Exciting Growth
Earlier this week, Gilwell Park Adventure Centre welcomed a special visit from Dwight Hulme, Memberships and Preferred Suppliers Manager at the Australian Camps Association. Dwight met with Shane, the newly appointed Site Manager, who brings fresh energy and vision to one of Victoria’s most iconic outdoor education destinations.
The visit marked more than just a meet-and-greet. While on-site, Dwight also conducted an official inspection as part of the Quality Tourism Framework (QTF) – Camps & Adventure Activities Accreditation process. Gilwell Park is proud to hold both the Adventure Camps Accreditation and Sustainable Tourism Accreditation, reflecting its commitment to delivering safe, high-quality programs while operating in harmony with the natural environment.
These nationally recognised accreditations are a testament to the high standards maintained across the site and reinforce Scouts Victoria’s dedication to best-practice outdoor adventure programming.
With exciting developments already underway, including modern upgrades to key facilities, the future is bright for Gilwell Park. Under Shane’s leadership and with continued support from peak industry bodies like the ACA, the site is well-positioned to grow as a leading destination for Scout Groups, schools, and community organisations.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to improve and expand the adventure!
